We took advantage of the recent direct WOW Airlines deal from San Francisco and were pleasantly surprised at how well the flight went as well as getting around Reykjavik. WOW Airlines has fueled a recent heightened wave of tourism the past year from the US with their cheap flight deals and were happy to jump on the same travel train.
Eight hours after departure we found ourselves in the Keflavik airport at 5 in the morning.
We were a tad jetlagged so we took our time making it to the Reykjavik City Campsite, pitched a tent and snoozed for a few solid hours to regain our strength.
Honestly, you could have thought we were still on the streets of a foggy San Francisco day.
Then, we headed out to explore Reykjavik. There were thick clouds blanketing the city with a slight drizzle and occasional gusts of winds.

We really loved the charm of old Icelandic architecture as well as the clean lines and simplicity of the new.
There's very few dogs in Reykjavik.
Hot water comes straight from the geothermal ground and smells like sulfur.
This country is exceptionally environmentally conscious.
2/3 of the population of Iceland lives in the capital.
